Denis Shevchuk

He was born in 1982 in Leningrad. He graduated with honors from the St. Petersburg Academy of Art and Industry. Baron Stieglitz. He works in the techniques of painting, object, sculpture, graphics, photography, installation, addressing the themes of urban narratives and urbanism. . Shevchuk’s main motives for creativity were already formed at that time: objects decomposed into pieces, landscapes folded like a puzzle from fragments of vision, combinatorics of picturesque planes. The surface of the canvas (although for Shevchuk it is often not a canvas, but deliberately roughly knocked down boards or plastic) takes on a multifaceted image that is in motion. The artist’s gaze scans not the moment, but time, like a timelapse, and not an impression or impression remains on the picture, but an episode that takes the viewer into the fourth dimension. The artist has a number of personal exhibitions, participated in many biennales, festivals, group and museum exhibitions, charity events and auctions. The author’s works are in collections and private collections in different countries, such as the USA (collection of singer Lenny Kravitz, private collections), Russia (collection of actor Alexander Ustyugov, ARTBOX, private collections), Switzerland, France, Germany and others. He is a member of the Moscow branch of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia.
