This work belongs to the "Dances" series, as the movement of the gestures and lines has often reminded me of Matisse's. It is composed according to the principle inspired by the geometric construction of the golden ratio. The golden ratio, or divine proportion, is found in nature and in the human body. Thus, the compositional lines correspond to those used in classical painting since the Middle Ages. Free gestures intertwine with the restrained lines of pastel or charcoal and interlock around the areas reserved on the canvas. The multiple layers of color give the gestures their trembling and depth. Oil and pastel on canvas 2022 80 / 80 cm.
